“Glass or a pot?” said the barmaid. She was an alarmingly blonde woman who would not be celebrating her fiftieth birthday again and had evidently been challenged to demonstrate that red lipstick and blue eye make-up really could be over applied. She had succeeded wonderfully, her deep tan accentuating heavy blue eye-shadow by throwing it into stark relief and leaving no doubt that it was indeed over-applied. Unhappily, the tanning process had not served her skin well and her face rather resembled a dark walnut with garish blue eyes and reddish-orange lips.

“How much is a pot?” asked Micky

“Dollar five.”

“Awwright, a pot then.” Micky was feeling extravagant.
